So as I watch this mess unfold in both the US and Canada, I often wonder where we’re headed.
Here in Canada we have Trudeau who has a narcissistic personality that is refusing to accept that he is wrong and that he has outlived his usefulness. His father waited too long as well.
I believe that the majority of politicians begin with the absolute best of intentions, but when they are elected, they are instantly hit with the reality of corruption.
This individual on the other hand, was born into the system and continues the agenda that he was given. He refuses to listen and accept any of his own ideas could be detrimental to the country. He is obviously Klaus Schwab material.
The country needs to have a good look at itself and decide what is right for everyone, or it needs to break up into separate economic systems and conveyances .
I’m not saying that I know what’s right, but I do know what can not continue.
However, Trudeau needs to do the “Walk in the snow “ that his father did.
Meh..

I sit here as a North American, not a US citizen, I live in Canada and Mexico
I’m just short of 60. I have seen a lot of weird ass crap between what we call the 2 party system in the USA, and I wonder if this is actually what the KGB had planned has actually come to pass. The plan was to use it division of the country via electoral boundaries to destroy it from the inside.
The idea was to introduce off-ideas like trans, LGBTQ etc to divide the population, and therefore divide and destroy the family structure that is the core value of the country.
Instead of coming together as a group, we have seen a division that seems insurmountable.
Is it though? I ask this question because I don’t believe that there is a real problem. I have friends and family who are in these groups and they consistently tell me that those groups don’t speak for me or us….
Is it a tempest in a teapot?
I don’t mean any disrespect, but I believe that we have always had our family members who have been “different” and always loved them.
I’m kind of getting tired of the BS and divide..

Election recounts by hand ruled "Unconstitutional?" |

I recently read this from FoxNews: 'Illegal, unconstitutional and void': Georgia judge strikes down new election rules after legal fights
Of course, I was intrigued... how could simply recounting ballots by hand ever be "unconstitutional?"
Of course, the wrinkle was prebaked into the articulation of the state law... apparently crafted by those who use the law for politics.
One of the measures, a requirement for all ballots to be hand counted by three county election officials after they had been machine tabulated to ensure the totals match, has become a political lightening rod in recent weeks.
This measure, would seem very sober and sane... if it weren't connected directly to "certification."
Certification is part of the electoral process... a nearly sanctified and codified affair... any proposed changes to it demands constitutional review.
Had they simply imposed the requirement regardless and separate from "election reporting," it would have been safe from this partisan gaming of the system.
It's a shame really... a fairly good idea, but it was almost 'designed' to fail legal scrutiny given the political warfare that the duopoly continually evokes.

Should a new type of political theory be developed? |

First, thanks for the invite to explore political theory and today's political weirdness in a, hopefully, more thoughtful way.
The link below offers a first stepping stone, as it were, to get a handle on the allegedly three approaches to political theory. I think we can explore this in more depth and I hope you will join me in trying to predict the future of politics or if we are all just destined to repeat history because we allegedly as a species can't or won't see beyond a five year span.

Plato claimed that the 'ideal state' would be governed by philospher-kings or individuals who were both just and wise. Plato was born into an affluent family so just how far does his reasoning and knowledge of the human condition go?
"Socrates claimed that he did not know the answers to questions beforehand, but that he was wiser than others in knowing that he didn’t know. [This is the essence of Socratic wisdom—he is wiser than others in knowing he doesn’t know, whereas the ignorant often claim to know with great certainty. Using the Socratic Method, he showed people that they didn’t know what they claimed to know. Needless to say, questioning people about their beliefs and implicitly asking them to defend them often arouses resentment and hostility. As Spinoza said “I cannot teach philosophy without being a disturber of the peace”]"

So just how far and/or effective can using reason and meaning be in today's varied societies with their varied religious/political leanings (with and without religious interference)?
